As you've probably noticed, I list a bunch of my favorite blogs in the right-hand column--you should definitely check them all out(!). I try to keep it fresh, so I delete blogs that seem inactive (i.e., haven't posted in 2012).
I'm grateful to my fellow bloggers, who always have something interesting to say, keep me on my toes, and comment thoughtfully on BW. I don't know if these folks know how religiously I read them, but I do(!). And I wanted to highlight some of my favorite posts from the past couple of months:
What else have you been reading online lately?

I've been reading effingdykes at effingdykes.blogspot.com. While not specifically butch, she did a great post on lesbian body image.

It makes me so sad to see those posts from women who can't fully love their body. I'm proud of beautiful masculine womanly body, including my breasts. I have nothing to hide or be ashamed of. I am so thankful to have been born a woman, and I wish that Butches wouldn't feel that they need to change themselves, but take pride in their amazing womanhood.

I totally agree if your a Trans guy great for you, but then you're not Butch. As Butches are females, and as females I believe that we should be proud of our bodies. You're welcome to disagree, it's just my opinion. Which as we all know are just feelings based on our realities. I just hate seeing young Butches feel like they need to look just like a man to be beautiful. You can be masculine and have a female body, that's the beauty. If you feel like you were born in a different body that's a whole other ball of wax.

"I just hate seeing young Butches feel like they need to look just like a man to be beautiful."
Self-policing is absurd, plain and simple. Defining what butch means for someone else is just not your place. I identify as butch: I love my breasts and I also bind them, and I certainly have never (and will never) aim to be a man. That said, I don't identify as a woman, either, and there is never going to be a time in my life where I believe my definition is universal. 10/17/2012 06:04:01 am
Thanks so much for the plug here! I really love your blogs too, and I enjoy blogging very much...whether written or video! Rock on!

I, too, personally define "butch" as female. Or at least, I used to. Now I'm not so sure. Why shouldn't anyone be able to claim a butch identity, as long as they don't deny mine?

Honored to be in your list of "regulars" - you certainly are in mine. I also try to keep a good mix of perspectives in my list, so I don't get blinded by my own all the time. (Not to mention I already read some of the other shouted to blogs, which means they must be good!)

It is getting harder and harder to find decent lesbian blogs - regardless of how to choose to search - through the normal search machines, as if they purposefully push references and links down to the deepest pages, so your link list here has come as a great relief to me and I look forward to finding more fascinating stories and perspectives as a result.
